Since I was a boy, I have pursued my fantasy on a daily basis. I was born in the dead of winter on November 18th, 1954 in Flint, Michigan and by the time I was nine years old, I was photographing erotica. I know now that I was probably not alone.
My first velox photographs were made by hand dipping 620 negative film though developer in old aluminum ice cube trays in the potato cellar in total darkness. I was making contact prints with a bare lightbulb hanging from the cellar ceiling and an old contact negative frame printer. Photographs of my slumbering sisters were my first subject matter.
My mother’s fishnet stockings with a handsewn seam that ran down the backs of her legs was my early favorite subject. ~RMW
